How to Enagage
Pastor Shane shares nine ways you can engage others online.

I'm going to share with you nine projects that you can start to positively aid the work of digital evangelism.
1. Write a blog.
People love to read! You could use a tool such as Medium.com to write about spiritual and uplifting topics. Some people may be there looking for uplifting stories or your real life experiences…
2. Start a YouTube channel.
We'll talk more about this in a future video, but YouTube is one of the best ways to engage with others online. In fact, it is the second-largest social platform, right behind Facebook.
3. Create stunning visuals that share the Gospel (for social media).
Here you can use tools like Canva.com or Adobe Spark and make those nice scripture images that you see posted around online. Or other inspiring quotes. You could make those and share them to encourage people.
When you're having your devotional time, be on the lookout for something shareworthy... Also, several Bible apps have a built-in sharing tools that makes creating beautiful images a breeze.
4. Launch a podcast
Audio is a wonderful format, I use it when I mow and sometimes when I'm driving my car. We should have more content in audio-only and we'll talk about this in more detail in another video too.
5. Start an online Bible study group over Zoom, Google Hangouts, Lifesize, etc. etc.If you've Facetimed someone, or have been in a Facebook Messenger video call, then you can use these services! Whether in their homes or out of town you can meet with someone to study the Bible wherever someone has a phone, or computer.
6. Create audio devotionals for WhatsApp.
There are countries that are using this with wonderful success. Essentially, WhatsApp is an app that handles messaging between phones, it uses internet data instead of traditional phone lines to send messages back and forth. That means people without phone service can get messages, as long as they have Wi-Fi from somewhere, like McDonald's or a library.
You can send audio recordings over whatsapp and it makes for a more personal experience with the groups that are joining you. It's a bit closer to real time, yet with the ability to pause the message if need be.
AWR Also has a great guide on becoming a cell phone evangelist using their chatbots and pre-recorded audio Bible studies. There's a link to this below.
7. Reach out to friends on social media with encouraging notes.Summarize the devotional you had in the morning and send it to some friends, sharing how you were encouraged by it.
Try posting your prayer schedule on Facebook and invite friends to like the post if they would like prayer during that time or to leave a comment if they have a specific request.
8. Produce devotional videos
Use your phone to make nice short videos that can be an encouragement to others. People may stop to watch you instead of John Bradshaw because they know you!
And finally...
9. Start an email list
It's old-fashioned now, but it works! Collect some email addresses of people you know and keep adding more email addresses of the people they know. Forwarding it along. You can share prayer requests or any of the numerous different devotionals that are being produced from It Is Written, Voice of Prophecy, Lightbearers, etc.
In all of these projects, there's a core thread that can be woven through each of them, that helps to tie it together... I'll see you in the next one.
